Left to right-Dave Ostrowske and Robert Snyder
I’m Dave Ostrowske, and I live in North Canton, Ohio. For the past 29 years, I have been the service manager at Uniontown Tire where interacting with customers and solving problems are my daily routine.
My firearms career started a very short 10 years ago, I started shooting IDPA for the first couple years, and it wasn’t until 2008 that I started to compete seriously with a pistol. By this time USPSA had my attention, and traveling to the big matches to shoot with the top shooters in the country was a must. At about the same time in 2008 I was introduced to long range shooting, I started shooting a little F-class with a .308 and learned early that this game is going to be difficult, and I’m going to have to pay attention to all aspects of it.
Fast forward a couple years to 2010, the pistols get put away and my focus is now on shooting tactical matches. This was going to be a new experience for me, the people that I would meet and how genuine and eager they were to help a new shooter. I have been fortunate to meet a lot of great people along the way.

Chris Ozolins is from upstate NY where he worked for 13 years in Law enforcement, retiring in 2008 from a line of duty injury. During his time as a police officer he received training and certifications in basic and advanced sniper/marksman as well as SWAT. It is here where his passion for precision weapons began. He shot in many 3-gun and sniper tactical matches as a form of training and for fun.
In 2009 He shot in his first F-class match at the 2009 FCNC and placed 12th as well as winning a gold medal for high Police. He continued to shoot in as many matches as he could find, winning the New york state F-T/R championship 2 yrs running, as well as a few regional matches in PA, and shooting on the 2010 team USA squad at the America’s Cup match in Canada helping team USA to win the Gold. At the 2011 FCNC he placed 4th overall. At the 2012 Berger SW nationals he had a 2nd place finish, and has won or placed 2nd at many matches at Camp Butner NC, one of the most challenging and competitive ranges in the country.
Chris has set 7 individual national records with more pending.
For Sniper matches I plan on trying the match at Reade range, maybe ASC, thunder valley steel challenge match OH, and Rayners long range match in MT.
I have been asked by Darrel Buel to shoot the Canadian sniper champs for LE/Mil in Oregon and Canada, (its a series of matches) I am going to try that one.
As of now I have 11 national records in F-class F-T/R in the police division with 2 more pending from late last year…(trying to get a record in every category next year..)
I have begun teaching basic precision rifle classes to civilians, and I hold certifications in basic, advanced, and sniper instructor from NYS BMP from when I was a cop. I am working towards NRA certifications.

My name is Robert Snyder. I’m the owner and main gunsmith at R W Snyder Gunsmithing. I started building Custom Rifles back in 2000 for myself and friends. In 2002 Lorie and I received our FFL and started building and selling them to the general public and Law Enforcement Agencies. That same year I started shooting some local Benchrest events and set up at several Gun Shows around the area to display and sell my rifles. In 2005 I started to to do Law Enforcement Demonstrations of my precision rifles. From 2005 to 2010 I did a lot of Gun shows, buying/selling of rifles and parts also full displays of my custom rifles as well as L.E. demo’s. In 2010 I started to do demo’s at a few tactical match’s that allowed me to set up at. 2013 came around, the year started out tough. I lost my Mother on Feb 6th from a near 13 year battle with breast cancer. That same year I decided to shoot the Bushnell brawl. I was hooked. So I shot several PTS comps in 2013. I like the challenge of tactical competitions, the unconventional shooting positions, the time constraints. 2013 is also the year I started the RWS Shooting team. 2014 is now here and I’ve already shot and demo’ed at the Bushnell Brawl. I plan on shooting the PTS comps, Snipers Hide Cup and a few smaller events along with displaying at some local gun shows. I will also continue with L.E. demo’s.
